And the "after" pic. I've added some stairs and gangplanks so that I can access my beach from my clifftop, again being careful to match with my immediate neighbor's textures. And yes, there is land for sale back there if you want to come join in on the fun!

From here, I continued my blackstone cliff around the front of my tier, leaving space for the cave. Then, I detailed my beach as well as creating a border with some ruined castle pieces, as well as adding some vines to disguise the cave entrance a little bit.

I set about creating a cliff border about the height I wanted to build my house in. I also added a flat prim with the same texture as the sand on the beach where my house will go.

Then I moved my house and all of my things up to this new level. I also hid a secret cave under the house.
I've created a cliff of blackstone along the inlet that borders my land and a flat prim to put my house on. The prim is highlighted in this picture because I am editing the texture so it isn't all stretched out and more closely matches the texture on the SecondLife beach. I've made a border using the same kind of white stone my immediate neighbor has to "unify" our landscape, and then I moved my house into position on top of the sandy prim. Below, there is a cave I have tucked in under this space.

I've been super busy getting my house together in SecondLife! I bought the parcel behind my own parcel and set about creating a "tiered" look to my land as my neighbors have done...

Here is the "before" image. My land is on the right:
The "before" image. My neighbors have "tiered" parcels, an upper level with a house and a lower level with their hobbies (one has helicopters and the other has a speedboat and sunbathing area). My parcel has a house immediately on the beach with a dock, a sailboat, and a few palm trees. My newly bought land sits empty behind my house.
