We critically examine three common and conventionally accepted 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, showing how they lead to validity-supporting findings that foster an illusion of “validated” measures, despite offering only weak evidence of construct validity.
