It’s a major surprise to me that this is the first time it’s happened.

The methodology in defining a
top scientist was to look at the authors of the most cited papers in 129 scientific journals.

Since 2020, the number of U.S. top scientists has declined by 14% while it’s up by 77% in China.
China overtakes US in number of top scientists, signalling global talent shift
While the number of leading scientists in America is falling, the number in China is only going up, according to new data.

In a culture where death as a subject is often taboo and engulfed in an aura of fear, Jimmy Carter amassed over the years — across writing, public comments and Sunday school lessons — a compilation of observations that amounted to a candid, cleareyed, evolving exploration of the end. nyti.ms/3DLAhI4

In the 1970s, jeans weren’t considered presidential. Then came President Jimmy Carter.

Carter, who died on Sunday, would prove to be an Oval Office trendsetter. Nearly all the presidents who followed him were captured wearing jeans while in office. nyti.ms/4iUDLYZ

Feeds should implement centralized automation to streamline moderation instead of relying solely on manual user efforts. The burden is left to the user.

AI is perfectly suited for this role—it thrives in handling large-scale tasks like moderation when paired with strong governance and oversight.

“it’s often invoked by young people on social media to describe the “supposed deterioration of a person’s mental or intellectual state,” particularly stemming from overconsumption of trivial online content.”

I suppose people tend to favor children of nepotism if enough people continue to support them.

While not all children of nepotism are inherently bad, there are enough negative examples of nepo babies to not root for the bad ones. 🤦🏻‍♀️

- books has been smeared across the dirty floor
- book that has a weird substance inside the book with pages bent

— then Amazon is the place for you.
