Impossible indeed. Even if you could calculate a WAR for student success (which is thrilling to contemplate!) it isn’t the only thing you’re trying to win/optimize, Faculty senate, trustees, staff, alums, donors, state legislators have disparate goals and outcomes they’d consider wins.

Not to make your thread more depressing, but this program has been a model for similar programs on other campuses, and these institutions could continue to follow UC’s lead on this decision. Higher ed ripple effects are real particularly in times of uncertainty

Thank you, my thoughts exactly. There are already a lot of barriers to me getting dinner on the table in a sane and timely manner, I cut corners where I can.

I was making a triple batch of pasta sauce to freeze, I had 3 lbs of sausage plus a 6 pound can of tomatoes bubbling away. I decided to just roll with it because I couldn’t stand the thought of throwing out that much food.

(And yes, I am well aware that there are professional chefs who say if you use “jarlic” you are a worthless lazy hack who deserves any misfortune that comes your way)
