The funny thing is I don't even think the series is saying that using it is wrong, it's that Light is an idiot and uses it too much and gives himself away to the feds.

Our culture is fixated on what is "fun" in games. If a remake repletes us with more dopamine, it's often considered better. People tend to lose sight of how these things are created art. The original devs had their vision. I want to understand their idea of fun, not have my idea of fun sold to me.

I know it doesn't erase them; you can emulate old games or in many cases buy updated rereleases of the old. But culture often moves away from the original, espousing the new one as the "true vision" of the game and a lot more "enjoyable." It's art revisionism, and imho, it's even worse when its good
