Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!! My nana had one Christmas wish! We all dress up in matching pajamas for the holidays. Anything for our Queen!!! 🎄🤶🏾🎅🏾🎄

Day 5 out of 7 and my last shoot day of the year!! It was a perfect day! Every time I'm on set with this group, we not only do damn good work but there are no egos; we have fun and share the same goal…creating a safe space for the creatives and also the talent on our sets!

Day 4 of 7! I love telling stories in my city!! Keeping our focus on Kensington, we went from our Old Lady Gang to Kensington Soccer Club 🎬⚽ They are an inspiring non-profit doing phenomenal work with the youth, and we can't wait to share their story!

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been surprised because it’s VERY hard to surprise me. In a room full of my favorite people my husband surprised me with a K KNOX PRODUCTION VARSITY JACKET that my close friend Ayasa designed! Blessed to have someone who supports my dreams 🥹

On my first day walking through the cemetery, I had tears in my eyes because of the neglect. Thank you so much, 1440 Film Co. and the New Castle County Government, for trusting me with this story, and thank you to my amazing crew for bringing my vision to life!

Directing this important documentary about my ancestors was an honor, a privilege, and a teaching moment. The things I learned through my research and the interviews shocked me! For example, cemeteries in Delaware were segregated until 1984. That’s only FORTY YEARS AGO!
