I personally think akiman's art just had a rough translation to 3d, though the hairmetal protag isn't my favourite work.

Rest of the cast is okay to good, and the data-in-vinyl-pants is awesome.

The series is still overshadowed by SO2, however, and I do wish they'd use the space travel part more.

Putting aside the grifting they fell for.
Putting aside the racist fuck.
Putting aside the legal trouble that this level of barely cited (paid??) art this book contains could bring them.

It's just not very well written?

Like, this level of livejournal bullshit is what they torch their rep over?

This game was such unmitigated arse.

I've not played the remake yet (combination of bloober distrust and the price of it is insane down here) but the new one is creepy as shit so far. I'm loving the small historic town aesthetic, as well.

Dudes are being fucking weird about feminism on steam, though.

Hi! I'm replacing the MC from episode two.

I just wish there was a way I could purchase English, physical volumes of the manga.

Even if it's those 3-in-1 omnibus editions.

People are mad at them? For..?

Cherry has the advantage of an almost guaranteed best seller, they can afford to be magnanimous with the pricing.

If you know you're going to sell 1-5 million units, you can afford to make a little less per unit.

Why is said fat arsed lady not part of the marketing, or mentioned at all? Seems like a miss to me.

Sex appeal can punch up an otherwise bland if competent pitch.

This has been proven before, very recently.

Looking at it on google's descriptions, it's more like this?

I love how it's just college girl, school girl, school girl, school girl, Monster Hunter Odogaron armour.

(Basically my MHWorld character down to the white hair.)

Are you driving them to their tailors to get the rest of their outfits?
July 29, 2025 at 10:56 AM
I didn't play it, so here's Eddie staring at you, judgingly.
July 25, 2025 at 5:21 AM
I like it. You're so mean.

No, it's not good, per se, but I like it nonetheless.

Jurassic Park. The clunky, awkward hybrid Doom shooter and top down adventure that runs at 10fps in the fps sections. Yes, it's not technically good, but I think it's interesting. Music good.

Technically the better port of Phantom 2040? I think it runs a little better and the extra buttons help.

I don't disagree, but the strength of games as art is that our inclusion in proceedings, either as an observer or as a participant can more directly express the themes than a book or film.

The Outer Wilds, for instance, would work as no other medium.

And that game was art.

I'm not saying they aren't artistic; I'm just saying that they're not artistic purely by their cinematic value.

The interactivity of it allows games to include you in the art, rather than you being simply a viewer.

I think that's immensely valuable.
July 20, 2025 at 3:13 PM
––but they aren't what I feel we should find artistic in games?

It's more about using the mechanics in tandem with the auditory and visual experience to bring people to places that only gaming can do; be it the state of game flow you get in a shmup, or the turtlehead clearing of a good horror.
July 20, 2025 at 1:54 PM
I don't think they're artistically comparable, honestly.

Games can be cinematic, but when they are they're (generally) taking away from what makes a game so precious as an experience.

Sure, I love my snazzy FMVs, and I'm currently replaying Death Stranding, so I'm not against cinematic games––
