"Brand-new"? Unless this is a complete re-write of the 2013 story, that's false advertising. Should just say "re-release" and be honest about it.

Anything by T. Kingfisher except her actual horror novels. "Snake Eater", "Byrony and Roses", "Toad Words and Other Stories", "Jackalope Wives", "Nettle and Bone".

Also Ursula Vernon's "Digger", which can be had in paper edition and also read online at diggercomic.com

We had a 25-year outdated set of Britannicas second-hand. Not so great for current social studies or science but wonderful to browse through. They had absolute *pages* about heraldry and horses and all sorts of interesting things.

Just to clarify - it doesn't stop me from returning my cart, or put it in that spot, but it did give me another point of view on it.

I have had a disabled friend tell me that she appreciates it when carts are left next to (not in!) the handicapped spot, because then she can grab the cart to hold onto right outside of her car, rather than having to prop her cane in a cart later.

Having now read it, I agree. There was a point where I was sure it was turning into actual horror, but then it eased back again. It was a very UrsulaV story. I can't even say "without the severed heads" because... yeah.

Serious question: if I love her fantasy but cringe from horror, should I read this book or keep it closed to avoid nightmares? (I already bought it, but I thought it was one of her dark fantasies, like "Nettle and Bone" or "A Sorceress Come to Call", not outright horror.)

My first thought was "but of course a Shroomie doesn't have facial expressions".

It's an incredible feat and a mesmerizing video. But I am left wondering why everything in Rustica had to be shifted up instead of, for instance, building a winding road up/down from one sim to another?

The plane needs massive upgrades to be ready to serve as an AirForce One. And apparently it's to be donated to Trump's presidential library after his term, so he can keep using it.

A free plane? Trump's Air Force One plan could be an expensive 'security nightmare.'
Security experts told BI that the work required to make a plane from Qatar ready to be Air Force One would be like building a new plane.

More likely, they actually want to break things as an excuse to dismantle the whole administration.

With some Habitat for Humanity and a few other NGOs mixed in as well. And the divinely-blessed lawyers.

I first read that as "Aromatic" and was picturing you puttering around with vials of scent, with petri dishes full of loam and mushrooms scattered about.

So it's like boneless chicken isn't legally required to actually be, you know, boneless? (shakes head)

Tanya Huff's "Blood Trail" has a family of werewolves. IIRC, at one point the youngest kid complains, "I never get to bite anyone."

That's a theory, but honestly, letting your mind try to fill in what you can't see is often much scarier. The unknown can be anything.

But but - I already bought it. (I was confused at first cause I assumed it would be a Xuya Universe story, lol. But no, it was a different dystopian space setting. Enjoyed it quite a bit nonetheless!)

I guess I'll just have to see if there's something else of yours I don't have yet. *nod*

I know someone who pirates because "It's been years and there still hasn't been / is no longer a legal copy for me to buy". Considering the amount they've already bought, I totally believe they would buy a legal copy if they could.

Anyone who refers to someone living "in" Long Island definitely didn't grow up on Long Island.
