I hope you get exactly what you voted for.
What if, instead, we decided "I suffered. It sucked. I survived. Now I can help make sure no other kid has to have the hard experience I had." Imagine how much better off the next generation could be if we all just practiced a modicum of empathy instead of being led by weird self-righteousness.

While I managed to get the scholarship I needed, the crazy grind of my early teens led to me being a C student in college. I was already so burnt out. And this brings me to my main point. I cannot understand the mindset so many seem to have of, "I suffered and survived so other people should too."

This only got worse when my primary caregiver started making enough money for me to no longer qualify for the discounted lunch. Because I can promise you I saw none of that. I was still the one paying for my own food, gas to get to the job I needed, etc. And I did it. Because I had to.

He says kids should get a job because that's what he did. You know what, man that's what I did too. And even when I qualified for discounted lunch, it sucked to have to hold down a job while also being in school and trying to participate in enough activities to qualify for future scholarships.

Like, are they so sure that Trump lowering the cost of eggs (which btw he won’t) will make them billionaires too? The entire existence of billionaires is predicated on crushing the working class. And yet a majority willingly walk under the steamroller. I don’t get it.

Trump literally left his “normal” supporters out in the cold while he seated the billionaires in front of his cabinet picks. He’s not even trying to hide it. They’re yelling the quiet part and people are too deaf or dumb to hear it.

My brain wants to wonder how and why people are so stupid that they bought / buy into this and then I remember that republicans have been systemically gutting public education for decades for this express purpose. Because it’s so much easier to manipulate and control those who don’t question it.
