The Headstart Program. I am a Behavioral/ Mental Health Consultant for a Headstart Program in my area. If we lost funding, the families we work alongside would lose not only daily care and education but also food access, economic support, and heath/ wellness supports.

Federal funding for early care and education programs (Child Care and Development Block Grant and Head Start, to name two) ensure that women can stay in the workforce when they have small children. Without that funding, many families cannot afford child care.
