And then I get this email from the bandwagon-jumpers-everything-be-turned-into-an-argument-for-free-speech-FSU. No words are not violence. But what people do when they hear words can be. The idea that you can wholly separate those two things operates from a very privileged place.

Here is how the fsu are telling their supporters to vote for #internetnz elections. I’m not sure having their supporters alternate the order makes sense in an stv election? But there are bizarre edge cases in stv voting.

Here's Seymour having another go at an academic for exercising their free speech, rather than protecting their free speech. This is a dog whistle for a lot of people to troll that academic's social media, email, file complaints with their employer. Death and rape threats are way too common.

One of the interesting things about the decision of Chris Penk to let Candace Owens into Aotearoa is that his brother Alex is involved in the FSU who advocated on Candace's behalf. Alex has written on free speech issues and appeared on their podcast. Was Alex involved in the advocacy for Candace?

Check out the ghastly way that the FSU leverages fears about Muslims grooming and abusing young girls in the UK in its newsletter last week. Whether ethnicity is related to these crimes is, at best, unclear, and perpetrators are predominantly white: www.bbc.com/news/uk-6517...

The government's announcement that they will re-implement a ban on prisoner's voting rights is horrendous in many ways. Most damning is this graph of the racial impacts of the last time the van was implemented in 2010 (from Carwyn Jones' article here: thespinoff.co.nz/politics/30-...).
