I told them that I had no interest in standing up there while they chatted amongst themselves, if it happened again I would wrap the whole thing up, and it was up to them. The rest of the presentation went like a well-oiled machine. I'm so grateful for my teaching background!!

Instead of yelling, scolding, or haranguing, I simply put the microphone down, walked back to my seat in the front row, sat down, and waited for them to notice. Within ten seconds they were aggressively shushing each other, and when I went back to the front of the room you could hear a pin drop.
