Also, the DOJ interpreted that 2019 law to say only working feds would be back payed, not furloughed not working feds. The court cases would have kept those federal employees in limbo, without pay for potentially years.

Warner is up for election next year. Kaine is up for election in 2030. Kaine worked out protections to save recently RIFed federal employees and helped fund SNAP through FY26.

He has been very clear in his communication to his constituents (newsletters) that he would support any deal that got RIFed federal employees their jobs back, and guaranteed back pay for all furloughed employees. He knows where his bread is buttered.

There aren’t any SNAP customers currently. Discounts wouldn’t violate SNAP rules.

They have a right to request and you have a right to refuse. Ring will only share your footage with a warrant or court order and they will notify the owner of the camera

The fascist takeover will happen with or without a budget. A shutdown makes it easier for them to gain control with more than half of feds sitting at home. The Dems gain nothing by allowing a shutdown.
