It's a cultural thing with British actors... American actors tend to look down on VO work & distinguish it against "real acting." Whereas with British folks it's all just acting, the same folks you pull for your games are also doing movies, tv, theater, so they're always pros.

this union strikes often for games but i would say the reason they don't often get much out of their strikes is that labour disparity that charlie outlines here. I'll work years on a game and maybe see the actor for the protagonist for like a week overall.

I feel particularly sad about this one because I designed/owned a comparable collectible VO lore feature on a previous game. It really is a perfect feature to synergize with E33's mystery & world building at low expense, but they executed on it weird.

And of course something else took out the expedition that left this note, but maybe it was something mundane or boring as illness or dwindling supplies. What they learned should definitely be more interesting than what happened to them.

They should have contextualized the log as intel drops, like I'd love if it was more like."hey future expeditioner, this is what killed expedition 67 but we of expedition 42 figured out if you do this you will not die."

Sounds like I'm not the only one who was bothered by this. How an Expedition died is probably the least interesting part of their experiences. Surely there is more some more profound to pass on then Darwinian example.
