My wife/business partner has similar brain patterns as me. Fortunately we both know how to read each other and can step in when the other is blanking out. I get paid to make large decisions that affect our crews which I never really struggle with. It’s the minutiae that gets me usually.

Lately, I’ve started pulling into the parking lot to make a mobile order instead—either for pickup 20 feet away, or just so I can read it out loud at the drive-thru.

How about you? What helps make ordering food easier? ⬇️

The uncertainty kills me. My vision gets blurry. I can feel my pulse in my forehead. I get irrationally irritated and sometimes just walk out feeling disappointed I didn't get what I wanted, but know it's my own fault.

The worst for me is drive-thrus (as mentioned earlier today) and new restaurants where I don’t know the “ordering rules.” Which part of the counter do I start at? Do I tell them the size first? The type of bread? Is it the name of the sandwich? Or do I order by the item number?

Eyes dart over every piece of information on the board, but seemingly still can’t find what you’re looking for? Order something random and regret it later. 😅

I went to a certain Canadian coffee shop to get a drink. By the time I found the latte section the screen had cycled and had to wait for it to come back to the list of lattes they sell. I was so rattled by the cashier staring at me as I panicked, that I ordered a “Grande”. Wrong coffee shop.
