They all had standout matches/feuds in ROH that helped them develop into AEW TV regulars. You seem to have plenty of complaints about ROH but don’t seem willing to also acknowledge the great work the wrestlers have done on that brand. Seems more like you have an agenda than constructive criticism.

All of those wrestlers were doing great work in ROH when they were barely on AEW TV. Again, ROH isn’t NXT. AEW isn’t WWE. There are different ways too develop talent. Do you think those wrestlers’ good performances on ROH TV and PPVs helped get them over with fans and with management?
April 22, 2025 at 10:57 PM
Willow, Fletcher, Garcia, Yuta, & Andretti have been regularly featured on AEW TV this year. ROH isn’t NXT, but that doesn’t mean those wrestlers’ work in ROH didn’t help them development. It did. The proof is they’re now on AEW TV. To say it didn’t, is like erasing the good work they did in ROH.
April 22, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Have they developed to the point they’re getting regular TV time in AEW? Did their work in ROH help them develop? Do you want those wrestlers to develop or not?
April 22, 2025 at 10:15 PM
Top Flight, Andretti and Lio are literally in a long-term story on AEW TV that also played out in ROH. Are you saying, at this moment, they’re not in a better position than they were a year ago?
April 22, 2025 at 10:11 PM
Andretti teaming with Darius in ROH helped prepare him for this tag team with Lio. When I look at where those wrestlers were three years to where they are now, I think you have to partially credit their work in ROH for that.
April 22, 2025 at 10:04 PM
I didn’t say anything about “ROH runs”. I said they got developmental reps in ROH which they did. Garcia and Willow being featured on ROH PPVS in high-profile matches definitely him them develop as wrestlers. Fletcher had great title matches against Lee Johnson in ROH that helped raise his stock…
April 22, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Over the last 3 years, Willow, Yuta, Garcia, Fletcher, Marina & Andretti were able to develop through ROH. Now they’re all regular acts on AEW TV. The current ROH isn’t presented as a “developmental show” like NXT, but the reps in ROH helped them develop as TV performers in front of live crowds.

Hey, that’s your opinion & that’s fine. I wasn’t sure this story was working until Worlds End & I heard that crowd chanting “fuck you Yuta” & “you deserve it” to Mox when Cope attacked him. That made it clear to me that AEW fans understand the story & are invested. The YouTube views shows the same.
January 6, 2025 at 8:45 PM
They’ve literally made those points in promos & on commentary. It wasn’t blatantly laid out in a 15 min in-ring speech, but that’s been the story since Mox attacked Bryan & later the younger wrestlers who are now champions. Go back and listen to Darby, Mox, Cope, Jay & MJF’s promos. It’s all there.
January 6, 2025 at 7:58 PM
And I think when you heard Cope say “nobody wants to be champion” he was quoting what Mox said in a earlier promo because Mox doesn’t think anyone is willing to do what needs to be done to be champion, in his view.
January 6, 2025 at 6:46 PM
And they feel he isn’t the best representative of AEW as the champion because of his obvious devious tactics to keep the belt and purposely harming other wrestlers. The heels/tweeners don’t care about any of that, they just want the title and the clout that comes with it.
January 6, 2025 at 6:46 PM
Imo, I think you’re too caught up on the “defending AEW” idea as literal. They don’t have to literally save AEW because Mox isn’t trying to destroy it. The faces are trying to take back control of the AEW title because the person with the title is the face of the company…
January 6, 2025 at 6:46 PM
And I liked that MJF recently referenced that he called Mox “Dictator Jon” during their 2020 world title feud. Mox has become the brutal “dictator” that MJF warned about. But from his perspective, Mox is doing what he thinks is best for AEW even if it’s by nefarious means.
January 6, 2025 at 4:57 PM
I explained what the current top contenders want and why. They want to be a champion (which should be every wrestlers’ goal & again has been Mox’s main message to the whole roster). Some of the contenders just have different motivations for winning the title depending the heel/face alignment.
January 6, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Darby & Cole’s attacks on Mox were comeuppance for his unnecessary violence. They didn’t just start attacking him for no reason. That’s why the crowd chanted “you deserve it” at Mox when Cope attacked him at the end of World’s End. And being violent in stipulation matches is obviously not the same.
January 6, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Mox has said in his promos that he’s the king of AEW & if anyone doesn’t like what he represents as AEW Champion (unnecessary excessive violence/Death Riders run-in, etc) then you have to kill the king. In wrestling terms, to kill the king, you have you take the title.
January 6, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Faces like OC, Darby & Cope are not only motivated to win the championship but also to stop the Death Riders’ excessive violence. Questioning if Mox’s actions are “right” if he’s accomplishing his goals is what makes him a complex heel imo. Was Thanos right? Was Killmonger right? Was Magneto right?
January 6, 2025 at 4:07 PM
Complex villains feel their actions are justified for the greater good. And their actions may even have good outcomes. The question is do the ends justify the means. In this case, other heels/tweeners like Christian, Hangman, White & MJF don’t mind Mox’s actions, they just want the championship…
January 6, 2025 at 4:07 PM
I don’t think he’s been cutting the young guys legs out at all. His bully tactics have actually worked well for some of them. After the Death Riders attacked Private Party, Garcia and Komander, they all became champions. And Yuta gets the most crowd heat out of anyone in the Death Riders.
January 6, 2025 at 3:49 AM
Over the past few weeks multiple wrestlers (White, Hangman, Darby, Cope, MJF, etc) have said they’re going after the world title, specifically because of Mox, which again shows his motivational tactics are working (in kayfabe).
January 6, 2025 at 3:45 AM
Considering the better Tokyo Dome show over the weekend was the one filled with AEW-contracted talent, that might suggest AEW has actually done a good job of presenting them on a world class level. Takeshita, Willow & Athena became global stars in AEW/ROH. And Kenny has mostly been gone for 2 years.
