Having a character speak with a highly distinct accent helps the reader to be “in” the story. The hard part for the author is – how to SPELL the weirdly enunciated speech! ARGH!

Baa - ha-ha-ha! I like to think about my writing like this.... Sort of makes me not worry about what I'm writing on that first draft; just get the feeling of it out... :) Get technical about grammar and spelling and all that boring stuff later.
