Officially the end of the semester! This was my first time teaching a 100-student online lecture course. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. Has anyone else taught a large class like this before?

I have been teaching world languages at the university level for 15+ years and have observed a significant shift in people's attitudes toward language learning. This shift has become particularly pronounced now, often requiring us to defend the very relevance of our field. Is this a US only issue?

My own thinking on this is far from complete. Still, my intuition tells me that refusing to guide students on ways AI can complement their learning and thinking is ultimately a dead end. I've tried to candidly articulate my reasons in a draft directed at students: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
