I get wanting to see yourself as a popular anime character because you don't feel represented. However, I don't understand that when there are artists dedicated to making Black centered series, we either let the wrong folks get the traction or folks ignore oc artists as a whole.

It's no shade to fanartists either, but as an oc artist, I feel exhausted, lol. Yes, it all depends on the algorithm etc etc, but like this is a pattern

It's very annoying and disheartening, having to feel like as an artist if I don't do fanart, I'm not necessarily gonna get traction.
I love my series wholeheartedly, and I love drawing characters and OCs inspired by those universes but people have their own original ideas that should be celebrated
