After over 17 years, today is my last day at work for the state of alaska. It has been a good ride, built some trails, fixed a few cabins, made lots of friends and bear sprayed myself once. Been lucky to see the backside of a few mountains.

Pączki were something I indirectly grew up with. Being one of the few non-Polish kids in my Wisconsin school, I learned a little Polish and their culture. My dad said they had a gang that ran Stevens Point, the Northside Pączki. Pączki pronounced poonch-key. Well here they are in Alaska.

Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches and winds gusting as high as 40 mph through the Pass. * WHERE...Valdez up to Thompson Pass. * WHEN...Until 10 AM AKST this morning. * IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. Reduced visibility through Thompson Pass. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain falling on frozen surfaces will continue to produce slick conditions on untreated roads and other surfaces. * WHAT...Rain on ice. * WHERE...Anchorage and Matanuska Valley. * WHEN...Until 10 AM AKST this morning. * IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, driveways, and neighborhood roads.
