Okay. 40 hours a week @$15/h for 50 weeks a year yields ~$30k. Still not a living wage. That's a poverty wage. I know providing aid saves lives. Providing a living wage is still better.

What about the active duty military? And the f/t Walmart employees making $7.25 an hour BECAUSE Walmart knows they'll be eligible for assistance on poverty wages. Part of walmart's hiring process is how to apply for assistance!
