A statue of Sojourner Truth (An activist for African-American civil rights, and women’s rights ) The sun is melting the snow on her head creating a trickle of water running down her face. It looked like the statue of this incredible woman was crying, given who had just been sworn into office

Just finished this watercolor. Her story captured my attention. The men who raped her and her husband who drugged her and sold access to her body are absolutely repulsive to me. She however is courageous. There fore I am naming this a ‘Portrait in Courage’.
