They're normally not this dry and brown, I don't know what happens for them to be like this. It's not like they're not shipped or transported around SEA, I guess it's just the extra travel time to get to North America?
(I have family with a fruiting rambutan tree in the backyard right now)
Malaysian greenery primarily focused on some red rambutan fruit high up among leaves and branches. The tree is at least roughly twenty+ years old.
