The next step after awareness is action! For depression, it's movement!

I know... The last thing you wanna do when depressed. But movement is key. It wakes up our body and keeps us going.

Jumping up and down. A quick dance. Or a simple walk can do wonders in interrupting our depressive state.

Our mind is powerful. Our thoughts are just thoughts but when we dwell on them. They can become reality.

Constant negative thoughts will affect our body. We struggle to take care of ourselves. Getting out of bed takes monumental effort. Showers are too much activity.

Take care with your thoughts.

Your body shuts down to protect itself to conserve its energies while in this survival state.

Notice when this happens. But notice and give yourself love and kindness. The world is harsh enough. You don't need to be your own enemy.

So build the awareness to notice. You are not your depression.

Depression can be misconstrued as not feeling anything. You see life with dull eyes and move through it with lethargy.

But depression is actually overwhelm. You're feeling too many things. Experiencing too much stress.

Depression is the symptom of the above and your body shutting down.

To be very clear, you can work on your depression. But give yourself grace and kindness when you can't follow through when you're in heavily depressed states.

Working on yourself takes a lot of time and very intentional effort. And motivation is extremely low when depressed.

So be kind to yourself

So wild!!! I had 2 different friends go to Japan around the same time. Like within the past couple weeks.

One was in that Ramen Museum. I started scanning the ppl to see if I could spot them. Lol.
