Yeeaa, if it's a thinner cut, you can absolutely get away with 1.5mins per side or even less, but the fat really needs to soften to get the texture that makes wagyu so sought after. Personally I prefer the flavour of leaner, grass-fed beef anyways

For a5 wagyu you might want to let it cook a little longer. A5 likes to be more medium-well, as a lot of the fat there hasn't fully softened so you'll get a fatty texture rather than a soft, buttery one and unlike most steaks, it won't ever go dry and tough, even if you cook it well-done
