There was no msm there, and only a few independent media. Don't let anyone make you think these are "pointless protests". Yes, protests won't stop the harm, but they are a song of hope and inspiration that build a foundation for the needed actions that will heal us. Example: rapid response teams.

It's worth remembering that these events are happening at very different moments in time. We can't know how this will turn out.

He has 10 days (except Sundays) to do something or it automatically becomes law, unless congress adjourns in that time, which would be a pocket veto (not likely after an all but unanimous vote in both chambers). So, yes, the bill is veto-proof, technically.

I see a lot of ppl saying he'll doctor them. I'm not convinced he could do so sufficiently. These files aren't in one place or all accessible by his regime, and many ppl have seen them personally. He keeps snapping at reporters, too, even after supporting their release. Seems to me he is flailing.

Not likely. Currently, the house website lists 174 signatories for the petition, all democrats. So, not even all dems have signed it for some reason. (It needs a minimum of 218 signatures, for those who don't know.)

Proving what? That America is hyper-polarized? Shocking. YouGov should've qualified "extreme", such as "...too extreme on the economy/immigration/etc".

If it was, it is no longer. The senate passed it tonight. The house will vote on it once they reconvene, and Johnson said he's given the members 36 hours to get to washington.

Not so, sadly. The senate voted to pass it a few hours ago. Now it goes to the house.

Respectfully, I think your language here is detrimental to morale. More guns is not going to help the situation or mitigate harm. Recent study backs this up: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

I respect that. I was genuinely curious about your perspective. If you change your mind, I'll be here.

Interesting. Can you provide an example?

Is there a context that would justify this?

I see what you're saying. I misunderstood. My apologies!

Are you trolling? There is a clear plan laid out in the article. What exactly is your criticism of it? Are you sure you aren't the one who is a lot of fun at parties?
April 20, 2025 at 9:07 PM
It seems like you didn't read the article. It has a 7-step plan that answers your exact nihilism, which I urge you to resist.
