I suck at it, but I respect the vision. I like how transparently it encourages mastery with tons of secrets and the currency system. I skidded by on items, triggers and a prayer but I kinda want to get better. Plot’s lean ,but there’s cute payoffs at the end. It’s cool and confident.

Had some frustrating times but this game rules. I’ll get steamrolled by enemies and traps. Then come back to them feeling the intentionality in the level design and your movement. Like the shortcuts. All the items are useful. OST and art are in top form. Real cool game.

Presentation is immaculate and I adore the cast. With great class balance and mechanical quirks, I found it plays great. Random battles do lose their tailored spark, but it has the best open map. And I really enjoyed the plot ,even with a few endgame foibles. Upper shelf FE.

I love the soundscape of this game. Absolute earworms out of even the most mellow, immersive tracks on top of bombastic bangers. And the sound effects tickle the senses. Gameplay’s nice too I guess. Shines at nudging you into secrets. There’s some learning by death, but it’s mostly tight

Yeah, this is peak. I’m floored by how much Mystical Ninja (N64) is in this game. It’s achieved a perfect symbiosis with the side scrolling stages through item based progression and zelda-like dungeon layouts. And their writing only gets more fun while being able to iterate on itself.

Personality is the key word here. The character writing is neat and its retro future delivers some well aged themes while being really cool. Then there’s a lot of mechanics that you think would be annoying but actually just pile on the charm and enable your own emergent tales. It rocks

I was hooked. Has the sauce in terms of knowing what makes a Souls game fun and just how evil you should be. And they just shower you with tools and weapons. The story and its use of the Pinocchio mythos rocks far more than I ever expected. It’s a vibe and is pretty discernible for Souls.

Good game. Combat’s decent and I like the dual usage on power ups for exploration. Scratched a Zelda itch to complete it. Wish the weapon switching was smoother but tight gameplay elsewise. What really makes it sing though is its tone. Cute and funny yet somber. OST especially nails it

Can be just as evil in its level design as the first. But with more variance in its level design and much more forgiving checkpoints, it never hampers the experience. Packs all the same charms as the first game with a funnier story to boot. Really like this one.

A novel experience. Goes between a meditative job flow and a sci fi story. Just a strange, yet compelling mix. The delivery gameplay still baffles me in how you get invested in mundane details and funny little disasters. And the story owns in being earnest, goofy and flat out cool.

A good game I couldn’t fall in love with. Spoilers and years of discourse robbed the story of some impact. Still rock with it ,but I’m pumped to have a clean slate moving forward. Gameplay works ,but I’m honestly not too big on RPG elements or the camera. It’s neat, but I await Ragnarok.

A marked improvement. Characters are a lot more fun and the plot is more engaging. I really dig the music in this one. The deuteragonist especially shines in his relationships and vastly different gameplay style. Makes GV feel a little too standard ,but I didn’t really mind. Made a fan of me.

I rock with the aesthetics, music, level design, and mechanics. Story is serviceable with some fun dialogue. But mechanical progression being tied to performance, replays, and outright luck kinda hampers the experience. Hope for better in the sequel but it’s still a cool game.

Kirby is so consistently good. Simple yet clever level design. More variety in the powers and their movesets than I’ve seen yet. And climaxes with sauce. Also the best implementation of 3D I’ve seen on the system. Not too big on side mini games linked to 100% but it’s alright.

A veritable journey. It’s so focused in that the plot is balanced well with daily living. And getting to have such in your face themes, while building intrigue and plot threads is real good. Archetypes are fun and welcome cheese. I love the party; art and OST are aces. All hits.

While the writing initially feels incongruent with the tone of the series as I know it, the character writing and dialogue really won me over. Slap that onto refinements in IV’s mechanics, better guidance, and the best bosses I’ve seen yet in SMT, and it really earns its stripes.

This is a game that makes me happy about the medium. With every skill you earn, with each tool you get, with every town liberated ,and with every unit you learn a little more about, you become enveloped in its world. And in its totality wind up with something marvelous.

Has the Sonic Frontiers buff where the titular character lets it lap most of the genre. Even basic tasks are enhanced by the speed you do them in and the VA. Being established makes the story fun. Control imprecision makes high level challenges annoying but high marks else-wise

Despite anticipating Ala Mhigo relevance since the jump, I found the Doman journey much more fun than it. It’s played too straightforward where Doma stayed fun through its unique culture and better cast tbh. Zenos is GOATed tho and I’m really locked in with the scion cast now.

I go back and forth on it. I miss V’s ease in retooling your party. Add the vague direction you get in the sizable, yet unlabeled map and V stays my favorite. However, the combat and demons are as fun as ever and the story is great at stacking intrigue on a well realized setting.

The intro drags ,but once it sets up the game takes off. There’s always some new gear or spell to toy with. The tweaks you make alongside the leveling make progression satisfying. And from its million secrets and cute details ,you can really tell they had fun making it. Model game

Expected cheeky references: the game and while it delivers, it’s a delight all around. Moveset is simple ,but with so much level variety it always feels fresh. While the objectives are fun ,half the joy is in the emergent interactions you find. And the PS2 level finale got me good.

This game is my jam. A noir inspired style in my scrimblo game? I’m there. Especially love how snappy the dialogue is. And while it’s nice how your basic tool kit embodies stealth, I love that just about every unlock breaks it. That being what makes completion feel really rewarding.
