once upon a time I was scoring a PC Engine port of Alter Ego which unfortunately seems to have vanished off the face of the earth, it was a neat opportunity to revisit doing some new takes on enhanced versions of the tunes...stick around for 0:49!

This time we got a music post + #rexnobilis update twofer: here's a sneak peek at the 100% homegrown music engine and a WIP of one of the boss tunes for my SNES bullet hell Rex Nobilis! #screenshotsaturday #indiedev #snes #スーパーファミコン #スーファミ

this tune was actually written in Deflemask, before Furnace blessed us with operator macros, so the chordpatch delaying each op was actually accomplished via some SSG-EG jank instead. crazy technique that I will literally never use again!

my attempt to get into some Ryu Umemoto vibes or something on the Sega Genesis, this is some kind of ocean cave area in @nosebecc.bsky.social's game (NSFW!)
stick around for the melody drop at 1:45

Here's some of @klonoz.bsky.social's smooth-as-butter (60 FPS!) animations for your rust bucket ship in Rex Nobilis, our SNES bullet hell! She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid...

fun fact: if you play it loose with timbre and tuning, you don't need ch3ext to do more-or-less arbitrary duophonic sounds! here's some 4 note chords on 2 regular FM channels

extended channel 3 pulling its weight on this solo!

more Sega Genesis stuff, here's the first witchy battle theme for @nosebecc.bsky.social's (NSFW!!!) game, featuring what would become one of the game's other leitmotifs

are the rumors about >1min videos true??
I've got a lot of Sega Genesis stuff for a certain game by a certain @nosebecc.bsky.social
(NSFW!!!) that a lot of people probably aren't even aware exists......
here's a cheery festival town theme, featuring what would become one of the game's leitmotifs

and finally here's the new one! hoping to get into the spirit of blasting out smaller updates more frequently, this is a background we recently integrated for my SNES bullet hell Rex Nobilis! mode 7 is cool #screenshotsaturday #indiedev #snes #スーパーファミコン #スーファミ #rexnobilis

I'm in a "post ancient stuff" mood, so here's what might be my first ever decent original tune! this is from 2004, during a very brief period between when I was mainly making MIDI covers of VGM and started really getting into chiptunes

chopped because bsky's silly 60sec rule, 1/2
January 29, 2025 at 4:51 PM
the thought occurred to me that, as of this year, I have officially been writing chiptunes for 20 years!
here's an ancient jam circa 2005 called "Generic Battle", from the brief era where I really wanted to make NES music but didn't know how so I was settling for Atari
