I see new album from Employed to Serve. What else am I missing? (Suggested in replays Machine Head is taken into account and added to the queue)

Bad actors. Will not earn the Oscar here.

The question still remains: where’s the line? If I spend days refining prompts, shaping tracks to fit my creative vision, then mix and master each element - does that still not count? :)

As a listener, music has never been better - I discover beautiful, unheard tracks daily.

As a musician in a small market, earning solid extra income from a hobby I love - and even touring abroad on vacations = a great bonus. As I said, not everyone needs to be a full time musician.

Agree about live-played instruments like guitar, but music is broader. EDM creators pour emotions through countless plugins, virtual instruments, and digital tools. AI can similarly be another creative tool, translating human emotions into sound.

Not everyone picking up an instrument should expect to live from it. If 5 out of 100 manage that, it's impressive given how many create music now compared to before. The business evolved - touring, merch, other activities bring income, and streaming offers passive income and fanbase growth.

But coming up with ideas for a machine still requires creativity. That's why I asked where the line is. You can spend days refining prompts, adjusting lyrics, mood, or ideas. Isn't that using AI just like writers use a typewriter - as a tool?
April 23, 2025 at 12:21 PM
Humans created AI and humans are making prompts - so exactly where do you draw the line on how much human involvement makes something 'real' music or not? Synthesizers for example: musicians sometimes press a single key, triggering automated arpeggios or random parameters. Is that less musical?

True, therefore I do not see a difference between algorythm and a radio dj. I even see an advantage in algorythm based approach.

If you're truly passionate about music, discovering what resonates has always required extra effort. No matter the era, genuine connection to music or art involves active exploration beyond mainstream suggestions, seeking for what truly aligns with your personal taste.

Algorithms personalize our experience, offering more than radio playlists or journalist picks ever did. Independent artists now have passive income and global reach previously limited to major label artists. Music and art have never been healthier or more diverse. Embrace the change.
April 23, 2025 at 7:28 AM
Stop complaining - tech has opened up music and art for everyone, making them more accessible. Labels and gatekeepers no longer control what's heard. Today, anyone can create and share from their own bedroom, uncovering hidden gems from hobbyists with day jobs.
