Oh, and while I’m at it (food a is 😂), I’d recommend “Josef” for food and especially drinks. A bit more expensive but really nice and you can eat at the bar when you are on your own. www.josef.ch

During my two years I live Abaya/Sharokova and then Abaya/Furmanova. I worked at the newspaper for Kazakh Germans - at the time still near Zelonij Basar. 🤓

Hold on, how is it possible that “The body keeps the score” is so slim? I am reading it as an ebook and kept wondering how the print version would look like with its 1500 pages - was it like a six point font?! Great read though. 🤓

I still remember the taste - so distinct. And, of course, the closest you could get to German-style dark bread. 😊

I also miss it on a regular basis; spent two years there, from 2002-2004. It remains in my heart and memories. Looking forward to going back in the not so far future.

Ich finde es sehr sympathisch. Sieht aus, als würde es zu Bauch-Beine-Po machen - aber dann sieht man den Apfel. 😅
