Not having much luck with the Wild Columbine germination. These were cold stratified for 8 weeks and are sitting in a south facing window that gets nice and warm.

Coneflowers and Prairie Clover are both doing very well along with Goldenrod and Hairy Golden Asters. Coneflowers were stratified and all the others were not.

Showy Milkweed is coming along beautifully! Common Milkweed has had 0% germination rate. Both were cold stratified for 8 weeks.

Hyssops and Blazing Star are coming along well but not having as much luck with the Smooth Aster so I've moved that one to a heating pad to hopefully encourage more germination. These seeds were not stratified as per seed provider instructions.

I'm noticing the germination rates aren't as high in the coco coir pods as the peat pods (boo). Was hoping to see better results with the coco coir pods as I really don't like using peat.

I did not stratify my blazingstar but stratified the prairie clover so we'll have to compare opposite approach notes!

Their call transports me back to warm summer afternoons of my childhood on our prairie acreage. One of my favourites. ❤️
