This is not a defense of him but he went to the Naval Academy (class of ‘02) and served as a SWO for a number of years (until 2018). While he is an attorney, he has no military law experience.

He is a Naval Academy grad and was a SWO for sometime.

He went to the Naval Academy and was a SWO for a few years. Never made Commander so this is a stretch.

He’s a ‘02 grad from the Naval Academy, was a SWO until 2018, and went to Brooklyn Law. Doesn’t mean he earned the right to be a Commander but at least there’s something.
