There's the constant annoying push and pull of 'no-one is on there, so I'm not going over there' and the opposing 'I refuse to use it on principle' which, while perfectly understandable, makes it impossible to actually hang out together by and large. XD

You can, but when a lot of how people use messengers these days is to network everyone collectively for events or hangouts (eg, how I use them), it is massively disadvantageous to have more than a few at max. Even when I did have more than one, I only used two or three.

I really hate this a lot. Identity is personal. The only time it's ever truly acceptable to question another's identity is if they directly and explicitly invite you to do so in confidence.

Anyone doing so without clear permission risks shoving people back into feeling too unsafe to be open.
