The tune was originally recorded in 1983 by the British band Shakatak, which had become popular in Japan, winning awards in Japan for the best international instrumental album six years running.

stationary performance was given, under the shelter of a canopy. Whilst this performance doesn’t have quite the visual appeal of the outdoor parade, you can hear all the instruments playing clearly, not just those passing the camera! (The rain stopped later and the afternoon parade went ahead.)

recording from 2006 by ‘Orange Fairy’ even more special. Band members are wearing their traditional Japanese ‘Happi’ coats with white skirts or shorts.
‘Kaze Ni Naritai’ had been KT’s signature piece, with which they usually ended performances, for several years until ‘Sing Sing Sing’ took over.

'Sir Duke' had also been part of the band's parade playlist back in 2019 when the seniors in this performance (118th class) were first year students. It later re-appeared as part of the 2024 parade playlist.

It may have been damaged when it fell. However, ‘The Show Must Go On’ so she carries on with the choreography, so that most of the audience would have been unaware of any problem.
A local instrument repair business mended the slide and the instrument was ready for the concert the following day.

At 2:20, the 2nd-year euphonium player has a problem with her instrument. A small u-shaped slide connected to the second piston has fallen out. She hesitates and the 3rd year euphonium player looks down at it. The 2nd-year player picks it up but has difficulty fitting it back in place.

This also included performances from Taiwanese schools. KT performed a stage show in their orange uniforms. The Drum Major was ‘Creta’. Music was ‘Winter Games’, ‘ Lum's Love Song’, ‘Soran Funk’, ‘Memories of You’ and ‘Sing Sing Sing’. This video is published on the band’s own YouTube channel.
