Both are good tho imo. Tidal has account based last.fm integration as an option if that is something that matters to you.

I switched from Tidal to Apple Music this year in protest of Tidal ending their Plex integration. It was a bit of a learning curve as the UX is VERY DIFFERENT but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I don't listen to video game OSTs often but AM has way more than Tidal so there is that at least.

I say go for it. I'm an OSRS player and while there is a loud group of awful people, there are also great LGBT+ communities that are naturally super open and chill.
