I just finished The Way of Kings by BrandoSando, started Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor, which I bought last month, and next will be a pop-history book.

I'd been ignoring types 2 & 3 in favor of 1 for a long time, and I'm hoping a little structure will allow me to get to them when the next big fantasy novel is tempting.

I'm an Eagles fan because someone I dated a long time ago and was most responsible for bringing me to enjoy football was from Philly and an Eagles fan. But I'm not sure I care enough to watch. I might put it on mute in the background while reading.

Oh absolutely! Especially with getting all the lords to swear to follow her, and then they all break that vow. But Agon 2 does have slightly more of a real claim than cousin Stephen.

The point of this request is to learn about the real history of real places, but I do really enjoy historical fiction and, obviously, historically inspired fantasy.

After hearing GRRM was inspired by Wars of the Roses and other real English history for ASOIAF I read some good books about that history. Dan Jones has good big picture ones, a biography of Elanor of Aquitaine... I'm looking for similar, but for China, Japan, Korea, etc.
