My guess? KC can’t afford Marsh going down in the 2nd if he doesn’t feel right and burn up the bullpen for this run of games. They’ll burn an option in Lynch sometime this year anyway. Or, Royals were worried Marsh would push through something he shouldn’t since he was up. He can leave a AAA game.
