Less lead exposure seems good along with less acid rain, rivers no longer burning, healing of the ozone layer, etc.

Could talk about concentrations and better distribution of charges (spreading out negative charges from one another). Teaching them the incorrect sets them up for added challenges in the future.

Given they are usually talking about the energy available to do non-expansion work - You mean I have to take into account bonds forming and breaking? solvation effects? and the change in entropy of the system? And all of that not just at standard state?

Both really - defines the type of information and the type of information flow in that context.

When I talk about DNA - Franklin is part of the story along with Watson & Crick, and Wilkins but I also talk about Florence Bell, Gosling, Chargoff, etc. Science is about connecting with others, directly or indirectly, both in the now and over time. It isn't about isolated individuals.

The Central Dogma is an organizing hypothesis to frame molecular biology regardless if approaching from a molecular genetics, molecular biophysics, biochemistry, molecular evolution, or cell biology lens.

To me molecular biology is the study of the molecular basis of information flow in life. How, when, & why does one polymer serve as a template to make another polymer in a sequence specific manner? The Central Dogma gets at the types of information flow, what are likely flows, & which are unlikely.

Don't disagree about stop lionizing - my point is to focus on what the Central Dogma actually is, which gets at what is happening in the cell and possibly why.

Beyond it inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes non-selectively? COX-2 targeting is associated more with the desired outcomes while it also inhibiting COX-1 is associated more with the side effects. It is a competitive inhibitor for both. #ChemChat

Looking at the Russian School of Math, it seems their approach is how my kids are being taught including to reason through problems. www.mathschool.com/blog/parent-...

It appears they are based on the materials I have seen and listening to them. We reinforce practice at home - they do math problems I write with whipped cream on pancakes or waffles on the weekends. Bigger issue at the primary level is how math-phobic some teachers are.
