I’m usually too poor of a planner to start annual seeds in spring, but this year I tried the snail roll method and am awash in zinnias. Some are huge! The colors make me so happy.

Can you explain more? Everything I’ve searched online says this is not true but I’m no scientist! Also, thought this image from Wikipedia was interesting. Did we evolve from slime mold? Ha ha!

Lots of bad things going on, but my new veggie garden is making me happy.

You know, @chuckwendig.bsky.social , times are bad enough without you making apples scary, too. Even if I do like the “childish” Honeycrisp (only the very small ones at Trader Joes’s). It’s the crispy crunch that is key for me (small bones indeed). Any recommendations for similar texture?

Peonies should be cut and cleared after they die back due to disease. My natives I leave up until the soil/air temps have warmed. So many insects overwinter in hollow dry stems and fallen leaves, etc. that it’s best to leave them alone. Once it’s warm enough you can just cut stalks to the ground.

Fox News trying to make Tim look bad and failing utterly. What the hell does “School lunches for unemployed minors” even mean? Trying to make children sound like deadbeats?

Just saw this on IKEA. Not cheap or roomy but would be good for growing herbs or cut-and-come-again lettuce on a balcony.

Can’t see your higher prices when I don’t shop at Target anymore. 💅

Oh, no! They’re gonna miss out on that cold McDonald’s buffet.

A little break from politics. I ordered a blank crochet doll from an artist in Ukraine and added face, hair and outfit and put her in the miniature greenhouse I built. I’m living vicariously through her in her tiny stress-free world.

Self care is making two batches of scones and freezing them so that you can pop some in the oven whenever you want.

Bluebird invasion this morning! We only get them to a feeder in winter so it’s such a delight!

Another holiday classic in the books. I think I know all the lyrics to every song. ❤️

Too cold for his usual bird vigil on the catio, Mosey naps epically on the heating pad instead.

What kind of miniatures do you do? I dabble in this kind.
