Student affairs grad progs can be traced back to 1914, w Teachers College's diploma for Deans of Women. Newly out: A paper on women's experiences in engineering internships, in collab w @anniewoff.bsky.social & colleagues! Findings: internships build skills, clarify interests, provide access to other opportunities, but experiences vary by manager/org support received and gender/race/age dynamics.

This news is really cool, as Goldin's work has been critical to my own thinking, teaching, & writing re: women in higher US education, esp across history. This graph by Goldin & Katz (2011) is one of my teaching go-tos about the start of women's & coed colleges.
