Now, when I ask people to read before commenting, I often get excuses about why they can't read: it's long, they don't have time, etc.

Which is fine! You don't have to read. But remember, you also don't have to comment. Often it takes more time to comment than read.

If DC is safe enough that they can spare police to protect the Guard, it’s safe enough- as it already was- to send the soldiers home.

grease floats.

when it flows in sewage and into our plants, it thickens as temps fall, separating in our settling tanks.

the churning water forms grease globs that build like snowballs, and operators remove them so they don’t clog the process.

listen. don’t pour grease down your drains.

Mom: cooking 90% of the meal
Dad: 1 job- potatoes
Me & bro: hiding from family dysfunction

Dad whipped sweet & white potatoes together & proudly asked Mom how it looked.

“LIKE SHIT IN A BOWL.”

A phrase we snuck in every holiday for 20 years until the sweet mercy of divorce ended the fun.

My aunt who famously can’t cook tried to make a pumpkin pie. She didn’t know what cloves were, so she put garlic cloves in it. Whole.

Seattle: Pike’s Place Market for an *amazing* array of varied cuisines in one spot. Also the flight museum where you can tour an actual Air Force One from the mid-1900s and a space shuttle training module.

Portland: Salt & Straw ice cream, Powell’s Books.
