How do you solve the stringiness problem? Every time I've had or made pumpkin pie filling from whole pumpkin, it's come out really stringy in a way that's unpleasant to eat.

The ones that get me are the woodpeckers. Especially "Red-headed" - they all (males) have red heads, this doesn't help me!
