More weekend flowers back in Arkansas. A friend sent me this picture of old tea rose Mrs BR Cant that I planted at the UALR Campus Garden. Apparently it’s a great rose in central Arkansas for organic or no-spray conditions!

Wishing I could stick my nose into some of the roses, irises, and peonies that are currently blooming like mad in my old garden in Little Rock! Sombreuil (colonial white) is the nearest rose in this image.

I’m not there to see it, but the garden I planted in Little Rock is exploding into bloom. Peony Mrs FDR is unfolding under the spectacular historical iris Dogrose, with old tea rose Clementina Carbonieri over on the left. All very worth growing. All fragrant.

This iris, a variety called “English Cottage” has been blooming for the last two and a half weeks— this is its third bloom of the year here in my Arkansas garden. Great fragrance. Only in the ground one year here. Highly recommended!
