let’s respect each other, call out shitty behavior, and not close ourselves in echo chambers or bubbles. I fell calling people fascist, woke, nazi or boycotting projects is not helping anyone in a meaningful way.

Vaxry, the creator of Hyprland, is doing such great, hard work and even after he improved, people still dig deep into the past and try to demonize his project and the community around it.

If you dig deep enough, you’ll always find some kind of controversy. For example, one of Framework’s investors is Linus from LTT, known for some questionable behavior in the past, but he’s also done a lot of great things (and lately it looks like he kickstarted a few new yt channels outside LTT 😄)

Omarchy was created by DHH, but as Rails it’s an OSS project with an emerging community, and I think it’s worth trying and supporting. We need more fresh people in FOSS (and FOSS hardware too).

He’s one of the loudest supporters of Framework, and imo, his help for them is huuge, so their support for Omarchy isn’t surprising. They need big figures to stay afloat in the market, since building and selling good, but quite pricey, repairable hw is super hard.

I strongly disagree with many of DHH’s statements and behaviors, but aside from Omarchy, he’s also the creator of Rails fw with one of the warmest and most welcoming communities for minorities and many other cool and beneficial OSS/commercial projects.

It might have started from this post x.com/LundukeJourn... Classic Mr. L behavior. He finds a few people calling names, amplifies it, then we have snowballing hatred effect. We should really stop insulting and canceling each other and start assuming good faith.
