to clarify, i have said this several times

but today i deactivated my twitter so today's different

i think i'd miss a lot of the people who still float around on there, but if there's ever been a greater time to move on from the platform after sticking it out for way longer than i should have, it's probably now

i keep up with news through the associated press anyway

at first it was just dumb ads that i realized i could downvote and filter out because whatever, but any time anything major has happened recently? it just gets worse, and worse, and worse...

and now i straight up get reps dunking on their counterparts about things and realize it's cooked

i say this a lot but it's become increasingly difficult for me to use twitter. like i recognize that people left ages ago but it's a hard platform to leave because of how integrated it is into online discourse

but thanks to leon's stupid filter removal...maga shit has heavily invaded the timeline

this also reminds me, it's gross that people are criticizing how people mourn while using it to push a narrative. maybe don't do that, idk, for at least a week? have some taste and respect for the family? damn.

that's how i'll choose to remember hax. he's the guy who hit the stupidest percent window combo on hbox that caused hbox to look at the crowd like "dude did you just see what this man hit me with? he's crazy"

the hax who won a whole tournament listening to fuck kd by lil b. the hax with jokes.
March 25, 2025 at 10:50 PM
hax deserved better, but so does his memory. having a cult maintained by a known grifter across the fgc is not fondly remembering hax. causing uncomfortable controller discourse due to the prevalence of leverless vs oem is not fondly remembering hax.

remembering the hax that loves melee is.

for every positive the internet has brought it is clear in recent years that it has affected greater social discourse on so many things. it's right to expose wrongs --- but the public eye starts a war that has no reason to exist when things can be handled privately, especially over stuff like this.
March 25, 2025 at 10:45 PM
when, y'know, obviously it's not?

i feel like the internet has made it so much more difficult for people to handle things in an adult matter and folks only pay attention for the drama/crashing out that happens that tips things over. and it's only gotten worse and worse since covid.

in the modern age, people will hold your feet to the fire for anything and never allow yourself the chance to find the help you need and make things right, because even if you do the right thing, it's never enough

but also there are people who will imply it's normal to evidence.zip somebody
evidence.zip

if i'm so real, i think that it truly sucks that hax was never able to make a proper return to the community because of something that he thought was a good idea at the time and was not received nearly as well as he thought (which many "free hax" people forget), because people really can change

you're gonna see this sort of message everywhere. and you're gonna be so fucking sick of it.

it's an understandable feeling. i hate that i even felt the need to echo it. but...it's grounding, it's real, and it's how we got through 2016-2020, somehow.

my running theory still holds out for a kamala win, but i knew the senate would fold, all because in reality, "maga dies if we win" is a big lie.

this is the new america.

watching incumbents win even if they're toxic, seeing the influence of the far right poison the wells of community and media...

the dems are somewhat to blame, sure. but where to begin with messaging such a tuned out silent majority...even if you win now, how do you turn back the clock?
