But they clearly did a lot with some immersion aspects. Training, intro, and the sus dormatory animations are good. I just need more investment into the combat style/aesthetics

It's missing the flashy visuals/ultimates while keeping the same rough gacha system I dislike. Constellations. Weapon rolling. I personally enjoy it atm because it fills the XCOM itch, but the lack of a wide range of cast members with lackluster ultimates is rough.

I used to use Nofflefit. Most outfits specifically ported to that body are absolutely NSFW. I don't think many are using it anymore since pre-DT though.

I am currently using AB Body. I would recommend.

Another one I saw just from a glance might be Lithe+ or NeoLithe? may be worth
