I just want to say, as I'm writing this review, that THE MONKEY is incredible. It captures something that King adaptations rarely capture: King's sense of humor. I say this w/affection, but it's a bad little kid's sense of humor - the kind who thinks freezing a spider in your ice cube is hilarious.

When I made my way through all the F13 films, this was one of my favorite moments
Never forget in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN when Julius wanted to fight Jason and Jason punched his WHOLE head off. 🤜🧑🏾🦱😱 And his head landed in a dumpster! 🗑 What a time.

Hoping for more great horror in 2025. I want more LGBTQ+ horror, more horror from BIPOC writers, more horror mixed with whatever authors love. I want more smart, unique horror that doesn't care about being easy to digest. I want more horror full of positionality. I want it all.
