It appears to be an Apple IOS thing if you subscribe in the Apple Substack app where Apple applies a service fee. If you subscribe by the web, only the Substack 10% fee (plus Stripe, etc.) applies. I'm still on Substack, but I haven't used in a while. Too old to keep up with so many apps.

Spent a little time at Fairfax Comic Con today and talked with the folks from Farpoint. I'm hoping to attend their upcoming con (January 30 - February 1, 2026) for at least one day! Jess Bush from Star Trek SNW will be one of their celebrity guests.

The flying squirrels are back again tonight to dine at our suet feeder. It's most likely a Southern Flying Squirrel (Glaucomys volans) as the Northern variety is usually found in limited, high-elevation areas. I didn't see Bullwinkle anywhere...

A heron on the Occoquan River yesterday. The bird isn't wading. It is walking on the ice with the bird's reflection showing a little. All for #SundayPixReflect.
