Cant handle silence so I talk a lot. Still cringing at the shit I said years ago. But sometimes I magically say the right thing at the right time and help someone through a rough patch. Who woulda thought? Guess I better keep talking then 😅

Working with a mentor means I need to actually put into words whatever my brain came up with and it's not always easy. I can clearly see the game in my head and feel the emotions I want to convey. Now I have to translate this into game loops to make sure we're on the same page 😅

Quite an interesting book. Barely halfway through but already covered the history of easter eggs, psychoanalysis of the people behind gamergate and some reasons why we play games in general. Doesn't go too in depth but can offer some food for thought 🤔 📚

Starting a new job next week and I decided to create a CV for my future self as a reference for where I want to be in a year. I'll then list the things to learn/work on and schedule quarterly check-ins with myself.

One thing I learned this year is not to make decisions when emotional.
Happy = overcommiting
Sad = missing out on things
Angry = straining relationships
I now try to add a 24h buffer where possible and it's worked wonders. Good for buying too many games too 😂

Finished my little app that lets you scan Japanese text, displays its reading as furigana, and offers kanji lookup. It was cool to explore SwiftUI, OCR, and AI in more depth. Need to do these small projects more often 😁

Went on our first little roadtrip over the weekend as we only just bought our first car! Damn the freedom to go places without having to rely on public transport is so underrated 😆
