Finally she started coming out more and more and over the last week seems to be getting much more comfortable. She also discovered the birds nest and has been enjoying watching them as well.
Teresa, a calico torbie, and Calcifer, a buff orange tabby, sit on a tan couch with their parents. Teresa sits with her side on her mom's foot while Calcifer has his butt leaned against his mom. Their front paws are touching and my heart melts a little bit every time I look at this picture. Teresa stands like a meerkat in front of the TV. A ray of sun crosses her body as she looks outside. She clearly sees something interesting. Calcifer introduces Teresa to the nest. Teresa is looking intently down at the nest while Calcifer stares at the mama bird who continues to taunt him. Teresa lays in front of the balcony door curtain. She is completely asleep on her back in a "n" shape. Her little paw is extended above her head and she looks at peace.

Calcifer adjusted to his new home quickly especially when he discovered a birds nest right outside our window. Teresa took a bit longer and spent time under the couch adjusting. She then moved to under the coffee table where she could more easily bop us when she wanted attention. Then she got silly.

Going from the 15th floor to the 2nd floor might be the best thing that has ever happened to Calcifer. Teresa, a calico torbie, lays under the couch. She doesn't seem horrible overwhelmed and would come over for pets but definitely didn't want to leave the comfort of the couch except for food. Teresa peeks out from under the coffee table. She had just bopped her mom's foot for attention and was checking to see if she was coming. Teresa is now getting silly. She is upside down under the coffee table with a wild expression in her eye and was bopping anyone who got close.

The flights went well although the kitties DID NOT LIKE descent and let us know. My husband had Teresa and took 0 pictures so you only get Calcifer during the flight but you can see what harness training was like (Calcifer liked while Teresa tolerated because she got treats but was not quite happy).

He has no issues with his harness. Teresa sits farther away on top of a purple suitcase under the bed. She willing let the harness be put on but is now looking unhappily and a bit pathetically at her mom. Nothing more horrible has ever happened to her and she deserves all the treats for putting up with this.

Well a cross country move with two cats is officially in the books 😅. Move out day was a little rough and since our flight got changed a few times we spent a few nights on cots which Teresa didn't love but quickly adapted to.
Teresa, a calico torbie, hides under a dresser in the closet during move out. She has stuck her head out to say hello and also that she hates everything when I came in to grab some boxes. She was quite distraught when the dresser also had to be removed. Calcifer, a buff orange tabby, and Teresa, a calico torbie lay on a blue cot surrounded by various moving supplies (some extra boxes, some tape, a backpack, a cat carrier and so on). Calcifer looks reasonable snuggled in the center of the bed but Teresa is sitting close to the edge with her head hanging down as if she is tired of this world. Teresa has now gotten quite comfortable with cot life and is laying on her side with her belly showing. Her face is tilted so you can see her cute black chin spot and she is completely asleep. Calcifer and Teresa lay on opposite ends of a cot napping in complete comfort.

Teresa, a calico torbie, is sitting on the shelf of a tan corner bookcase on top of a few boxes full of books. She is wiggling herself backwards and getting into position. Calcifer, a buff orange tabby, sits on top of the bookcase in front of a TV watching intently to see if Teresa is ready. Calcifer's paw is now in motion as he slaps down at Teresa who has her mouth wide as she prepares to bite. Both Calcifer and Teresa now stare at their mother. Calcifer looks vaguely annoyed at being caught and their game being delayed. Teresa is the picture of innocence as she sweetly peeks out from her hide out. She is definitely not the one who initiated this game. Absolutely not - she was just sitting here minding her own business.

Some ridiculous creatures to make today a little less depressing.
Teresa, a calico torbie, lays on a bath mat in the hallway curled in an almost closed "p" shape on her back. Her white belly is fully exposed. She lays with the top of her head on the bath mat looking at the camera upside down. She has her one front paw extended up and out - maybe for a high five, maybe for a slap, it is very unclear - and has a very silly look in her eye. Teresa, a calico torbie, is laying on her back with her white tummy exposed in the bathroom being a very long girl. She uses her one front paw to grab the edge of the sink and stretch herself even longer. Calcifer, a buff orange tabby, lays on top of the air conditioner next to some plants in a window revealing how orange he actually is. His face is smushed against the plant pot closest to him because his mother accidentally moved it an inch farther right than usual and his brain can't deal with that small movement. Teresa loves laying on top of the warm dishwasher. We also went away for a week recently and ever since then if we leave any of our clothes accessible when we leave our apartment we come back to her having nested upon it. I guess she missed us 😂🥰.
Teresa, a calico torbie, is sprawled out asleep on a small white movable dishwasher. Her back leggies are hanging off the edge. Teresa is now sitting the opposite way on the dishwasher. The fan has just turned off and it will soon start to cool off. She has her stomach and chin exposed to the sky. Her leggies are still extended off the edge. She has absolutely no cares. Teresa looks up at her parents as she lays on her dad's black T-shirt that has somehow made its way into the floor. The look on her face and her extended front paw says this is mine now. Her favorite donut toy sits behind her.

Hey everyone! Sorry for disappearing - I have been mainly keeping off social media for my mental health as I was doom scrolling way too much. But just know we are all good here. Calcifer and Teresa are officially friends and she continues to be a ridiculous creature who I love very much.

I think they are fully friends now 🥹🥹! When he goes into full zoomies mode she can still get overwhelmed but she has learned that getting up high avoids most of the carnage 😂😂.

She is doing so well! I need to get back on to social media and update everyone more often but she is wonderful - full of love and sillyness.
